You pay for it.
You end up owning it.
Ask me to build something and it costs — every time, whatever it is for. There is no price list, because two builds that sound identical can differ by a factor of five. That is what discovery is for.
A conversation, free
You tell me what you are trying to do, and whether software is the answer at all. Sometimes it is not.
Paid discovery
I get paid to work the problem out before anyone commits to a number. You own the written specification and can take it elsewhere.
A fixed price against that spec
The spec is what gets quoted, so the price holds. Anything beyond it goes through a written change, not quietly onto the bill.
Handover
The last step, not a separate negotiation. Everything transfers on final payment, and you can hire anyone to take it further, including nobody.
What you hold at the end
- The complete source, in a repository you control
- The database and its structure, with your data in it
- The deployment setup, documented enough to rebuild
- The intellectual property, transferred on final payment
- No obligation to keep me involved afterwards
That transfer is priced in from the start, not sold back to you later. Ongoing IT support once it is running comes from Kalkman Digital, and you opt into it separately.
